Southeast PA Organization 1st Private Duty Agency To Achieve Exemplary Provider® Status
Sandra C. Canally, President and CEO of The Compliance Team, Inc. announced today that Seniors Helping Seniors ® of Bucks County (SHS), a non-medical private duty homecare agency based in Warminster, Pennsylvania has successfully demonstrated an on-going organizational commitment to excellence that meets the requirements necessary for the agency to receive The Compliance Team’s Exemplary Provider® Certificate of Accreditation.

This achievement by Senior Helping Seniors marks the first non-medical private duty homecare agency to be recognized by The Compliance Team. Canally who is the founder of the nation’s first woman-owned healthcare accreditation organization observed that Barbara Marte, President of SHS and her staff have done a terrific job, “they are a tremendous example of a safe, honest and caring senior service provider that is most deserving of this recognition,” declared Canally.

“We consider this a great accomplishment,” exclaimed Marte upon learning the news. Marte, who has a professional background in facility based senior services went on to add “as an owner of a small business, I wondered how I could demonstrate my commitment to exceed our client expectations. When I learned of The Compliance Team, I knew I had found the answer. With their help and guidance, I feel as though I have a partner to help ensure my customers that they are with an organization committed to meeting their needs.” Seniors Helping Seniors ® of Bucks County began operations in August 2007 and they now do business throughout central and lower Bucks County in the suburban Philadelphia communities. During that time, SHS has grown from a single person operation to one that employs nearly 100 seniors and provides services for more than 100 seniors in any given month.

In addition to meeting The Compliance Team’s comprehensive accreditation quality measures, SHS has gained recognition as the only non-medical in-home service in the region that is strictly for seniors by seniors with a business model that matches seniors who need help with seniors who want to help.

Barbara Marte explained, “SHS’s business model fosters the building of a unique relationship between two people who really understand the ups and downs of life. We work with you to find a senior who fits their personality and their scheduling requirements, and is someone who can help with our clients personal needs and offer companionship.”

“We chose The Compliance Team’s accreditation because their validation process was simply the best and most sensible way for us to ensure we had a road map to continuously meet and exceed standards for our industry. At the same time, we see our Exemplary Provider® designation as a quality recognition branding opportunity that highlights our on-going commitment to maintaining the highest level of client care excellence,” Marte concluded.

Non-medical private duty homecare is The Compliance Team’s most recent addition to its growing list of Exemplary Provider® healthcare accreditation programs that feature the industry’s first sets of plain language quality standards and evidence of compliance that are written from an informed patient’s perspective. The nationally recognized firm holds deeming authority from CMS to accredit all DMEPOS providers, and it also offers dramatically simplified service specific accreditation regimens for Critical Access Hospital, Rural Health Clinic, Physician Practice, Diagnostic Sleep Center, Home Health/ Hospice Agency, Pharmacy Services, and Ocularist/ Anaplastologist.
